John Goetz

I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended the University of Cincinnati. I paid for school working as a contractor and developed a passion for homes, design and energy efficiency.  I studied biochemistry and worked in the field of cancer research at the University of Cincinnati Medical School.  Eventually I left my hometown to take a position at Dartmouth Medical School and after spending several years in New Hampshire I moved to Bloomington, Indiana for a position at Indiana University.

While I had a very successful career in science, publishing almost 20 papers and receiving a US Patent, I wanted a change.  I decided to pursue a career in real estate after buying a house and being underwhelmed by most everyone I met during the process.  After rising to become managing broker of my firm, another great opportunity took my family to Ann Arbor, Michigan.  I know what it’s like to relocate and create your new home; I’m greatly appreciative of how wonderful it is to do that here among our unique community.

My unique background as a biochemist and as a contractor greatly helps my clients. These skills will serve you well as my attention to detail, understanding of how homes work, and imaginative solutions to problems set me apart from other agents. My experience helps you buy with confidence and allow your home reach its marketing potential.

Our family chose to live in Superior Township, an area of Washtenaw county convenient to everything Southeast Michigan has to offer.  My wife is a faculty member at the University of Michigan and we spend our free time traveling with our children.  I enjoy working on my own home and, unfortunately for my wife, there’s no job big enough to intimidate me.

I quickly become the top producer and managing broker in my former office because I’m passionate about real estate and helping people achieve their goals. My former clients become my friends. My future clients always challenge me with a new set of goals. Every transaction is different which I what I love about real estate, and every one is an opportunity to make a positive impact in people’s lives.
